Droplets

IMG-20150217-WA003

I would melt into you
if only I could
reach far enough
to touch you
pull you into me
trace every contours of your skin
memorise every oulines of your form
and together we would melt
like droplets in the river
you into me
I into you
till we know not
where you end
or I begin
I reached
I pulled
and touched….
all I kissed
was a gush of air

Like Gold -A Poem on Pain And Triumph

I have known pain
I have known fear

Fear chilling than the harmattan air

Pain, fiercer and harsher than the whips of a thousand horsemen
My soul sank deep into the river of pain and fear
I sought refuge in the bosom of the younger dawns
I hid in their embrace and they comforted me
I dreamt of the rebirth of her garden in all its glory
I felt the healing miracle of the morning sun

When Eva bathed in her warmth;

And I saw her inhabitants
came alive with the songs of the birds, and fluttering flowers in the breeze

I have known pain;
Nameless, faceless fear
I sunk deep into their depths
And they hurt no more

Like Gold, A poem on pain and triumph over life challenges.

Nothing Left

Awesome
Nothing left in my heart
Save the pounding
That I cannot drown
In the deep of the night
Nothing left on my lips
Save the humming of the whips
As they collide with my skin
Singing of their stings
Nothing left to remember
Save the stench of the others
Clinging to your skin
As you whirl by
Nothing left in my heart
Save the promise of forever
Victim of still birth
Smothered by treachery
Nothing left on my mind
Save the forgotten songs
Of the ties that bind
Awaiting next ill-fated pair
Nothing left of our love
Save the closed void
Where you once lived
Scarred by voidness
Nothing left of our passion
Save the hollow ache
Of unfulfilled longing
Fading with time
Nothing left in my heart
Save the stillness of the flutters
And the echoes
Of your departing feet

The Morning-After

image
       as daylight ushered in
           the morning-after
              all promises made
           in the heat of the
                     moment
                 now smothered
             by the heat of our
                       passion ~
         we watched helplessly as
            their crumpled fragments
                   ascended in the
                            beam

Echoes of Love

(NaPoWrimo14 Day 15)
I swore I’d never walk this path
At the last minute
I was bade to come forward
By the light of your love
As days turned into nights
It gets dimmer with the distance
Dim and dimmer, then out
While at a crossroad
Your light a fading shadow
On a starless night
and dark moon
My way I cannot find
In the distance a church bell
The start of a new day
Like rain drops in a river
The tingling of love passed so soon
The tingling and ringing now over
Only their echoes linger

Time

(NaPoWriMo Day 5)
Silky smooth soft spread
Cramped legs and wrinkled sheet
Streaming sun through the curtain
Dancing on an angelic face
A crescent smile adorned her lips
Would think that enough
To soften his stony heart
The hard set of his jaw
Eyes shooting fire from across the room
Crushed the ecstasy of the night before
When time honoured their union
The loud unspoken words
Whispered the death of the morning after
As time stood by the only witness
When it smothered their passion
And never move again

Happy National Poetry Writing Month for 30 Days of April. This blog…”where talent and personality bring forth quality”……..is going to feature a poem a day through this month. God helps me 🙂
This is my first attempt at participating in National Poetry  Writing and I’m glad to take the first step. So take me as I am.
The prompt for this poem is from the Bibliomacy oracle.
“Reality is usually a poor copy of the imitation. The original is an echo of what is yet to be.” – Me and My Pharaoh by Charles Bernstein

                A Puff Of Air
In you I found the answers I sought
Embrace your promise of eternal love
Peace so sweet the river cowers
Happiness so deep the ocean cannot fathom
In your arms I found relief
From pain, guilt and regret
Your offer new  chances and choices
New meaning in life and its beauty
But your loving arms held too tight
Your whole entity a puff of air
You are all but the real deal
Stirring us on a juorney from the truth
I realized so late your true form
Just a mere picture of should be
All you teach is the could be
All that cradle me is a puff of air

Another Room

image
Where I am is just another room
Trapped was the feeling of yesterday
Hoping today I find an exit
Now, at this crossroad
Believing one of them is the exit
I hoped
It’s just another room
Maybe tomorrow the exit I’ll find
My fate though unknown
I trudged to the threshold
Hoping it won’t be just another room
I pushed open a door
Then another
And then another
Tempted still another room to find
Round and round life ebbs out
Seeping slowly into the last exit
Could be another room unknown
Still my thought even beyond
A room of bliss for the blessed
