I Believe

I am waiting for a crack

in the shell of the sky,

announcing the birth of a new world;

free from sorrow, pain and prejudice

where man and beast

walk side by side

like when dawns were young.

I believe in a world

where children are children

singing and dancing in the rain

freeing the body of all limitations

and not a fear to the mothers hearts

I dream of a world

where law is devoid of less

where the haves and have nots share same law

where no one is judged by race, class or color

where humanity is a joint robe for all.

I pray for a world,

where we only smile for joy

not as a mask for hurts, betrayal or disappointments

where our ugly hearts are not cloaked

with flowing robes or colourful attire

A world

where friends justify the meaning of friendship

And family reigns above all

Still, I believe.

  4. Beautiful words. Unfortunately we are masked in the cloak of the human condition.

      1. I had huge dreams to change the world but I don’t believe in that anymore. I can’t change the world. But I can be certain to always stand up for what I believe in and not be swayed by the greed and selfishness of others. I can only hope my intentions influence others.

        1. If can be done, one person at a time. When you help one person, even a child; or your intentions influence others, you have already sown the seed of change. You have set the wheel of change in motion. And it will grow. You may not know or see it, but it is there.
There is a difference only you can make. I still believe, if not now, then. As long as we are still living, we should believe. It’s what makes the difference between the living and the dead.
          Don’t stop believing.

      1. I share how you believe so much I followed you. 🙂 I hope to see more of what you create. I will tell you right up front, sometimes it is very challenging for me to get to you, because I visit SO many blogs. Your best way for me to see you, is by commenting on Petals. Either that or I see you in my Reader at those times I use it. I encourage and lift up hundreds of people behind the scenes, and when I see their work, it means so much to me. This is not just about me. It is about US. (((HUGS))) Amy
